Documenting DLab

Recording the experiences of DIRECTV's innovation lab.

Dlab in 60 Seconds

We wanted to create a video that captured the feel of working in an innovation lab, what made us different from DIRECTV prime and try to capture some of the wonder and strangeness that made DLab so much fun.

For both of these videos I called on the talents of Ané Vecchione as director of photography. She has been my first choice for any project since the first time we worked together.

Dlab Documentary

When I started at DLab, we were sitting three to a cubical. It was uncomfortably obvious that we needed more space, so we set out to get a bigger location. I've always believed that in a true innovation lab you should be able to start a fire, meaning anything should be possible (and repairable). What we got wasn't perfect, but it was really, really nice.
